1. Introduction
The following Terms of Service apply to the agreement for the provision of services by AFTERNET IKE (the "COMPANY") to the users/holders/clients (the "CLIENT") of the services. The provision of services begins once the CLIENT accepts an offer and pays the sales document issued by the COMPANY.
Please read the following Terms of Service carefully before you start using our services. Using our services means automatic and unconditional acceptance of the Terms of Service described in this document. If you object to even one of these terms, please do not use our services.
2. Web hosting
2.1 General terms
By website (the "WEBSITE") we mean the CLIENT's website, which may have been built by the CLIENT, by another provider or by the COMPANY.
By server we mean the computer or cluster of computers on which the CLIENT's websites are stored. The server is located in specialised data centres in Greece and abroad and is available 24 hours a day so that users can access the CLIENT's WEBSITE.
By website hosting we mean storing the CLIENT's WEBSITE in a specific space on the server and providing related services (e.g. the ability to send emails, databases, development tools).
2.2 Shared hosting
Shared hosting is the service in which the CLIENT's WEBSITE is hosted on a server together with dozens of other clients' websites. Websites hosted on the same server share all resources (memory, disk, processor, etc.).
If one website malfunctions, it may cause the server as a whole, and therefore the CLIENT's WEBSITE, to malfunction.
2.3 VPS/Dedicated hosting
VPS or dedicated hosting is the service in which the CLIENT's WEBSITE is hosted on its own on a server (on the whole server or on a specific reserved part of it). In this case the WEBSITE uses specific server resources (memory, disk, processor, etc.).
2.4 Website hosting technical support
By website hosting technical support we mean any help or technical intervention relating to the service provided, in the event of a malfunction or unexpected behaviour. Website hosting technical support in no case includes help with, or technical interventions on, the CLIENT's websites, computers, mobile devices or software.
2.5 Email services technical support
Each shared or VPS hosting package may include a business email service. This means the CLIENT can use email addresses ending in the domain active for that service, e.g. @afternet.gr.
By email services technical support we mean help or technical interventions on matters related to the service, not to any other device or software of the client. The COMPANY is not obliged to install, configure or provide technical support for the client's computers, mobile devices or applications used to send and receive email.
Where the CLIENT, or anyone else, cannot solve a problem, the COMPANY, depending on the complexity of the problem and its workload at the time, may agree to investigate and try to solve it at a cost of €50/hour + VAT. The COMPANY in no case commits to an immediate solution or to a specific timeframe, bears no liability and gives no guarantee for the outcome of the work.
3. Domain names
3.1 General terms
The authority responsible for assigning and managing .gr and .ελ domain names is the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT), which has delegated this role to the Internet Names Registry of the Institute of Computer Science of the Foundation for Research and Technology (FORTH-ICS).
Since 2004, .gr domains can be registered only through companies accredited by EETT. Our COMPANY is accredited under registry protocol number 24454/15-05-09.
3.2 Regulations
The CLIENT should read the regulation for .gr domain names carefully. More information is available on the EETT website at http://www.eett.gr/.
3.3 Client obligations
The CLIENT must register domain names with details to which they have the right, or for which they are the legal representative in the case of a business.
3.4 Domain management
The CLIENT can manage their domains through the COMPANY's website, in the Client Area here: https://crm.afternet.gr/. The CLIENT must be very careful with any change made to a domain name, as incorrect settings may cause the website or business email to malfunction.
Domain management services are provided through automatic communication between the Client Area and the FORTH Names Registry. The COMPANY is not liable if communication with the Registry is temporarily interrupted for technical reasons beyond its control.
3.5 Domain transfer
Provided there is no outstanding debt to the COMPANY, the CLIENT has the right to request the transfer of their domain to another registrar. In that case they will need the Authorisation Code for the domain name(s) they wish to transfer. The Authorisation Code is available in the Client Area, specifically in the domain management section described above. The CLIENT may at any time ask for the Authorisation Code to be sent automatically to the contact email declared at the original registration, or ask the COMPANY's technicians to send it. All requests for authorisation codes must be sent to info@afternet.gr and are handled Monday to Friday between 10:00 and 18:00 (Athens time).
The COMPANY is obliged to send the Authorisation Code exclusively to the address declared at the registration of the domain name (i.e. the domain owner's) and in no case to the address sending the request.
4. Website technical support
4.1 General terms
The COMPANY undertakes to provide the CLIENT with maintenance and technical support services for the WEBSITE, for a period agreed between them.
Maintenance and technical support will include:
- Resolving any malfunctions or problems that arise on the WEBSITE and are due to development errors ("bugs").
- Specialised technicians answering questions about difficulties the WEBSITE administrators may encounter.
- Monitoring the WEBSITE and intervening immediately in the event of a fault.
- Preventive maintenance of the WEBSITE every seven (7) days, on days and at times agreed between the CLIENT and the COMPANY. Preventive maintenance consists of a general check of the website's appearance, database maintenance and any other settings on the web server software hosting the WEBSITE that are considered necessary. Website maintenance is carried out according to all technical rules by authorised and trained COMPANY technicians, during the COMPANY's working hours, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. (Athens time). During maintenance, the WEBSITE may be unavailable for a limited time, always after prior agreement with the WEBSITE administrators.
- Anything else required for the smooth and uninterrupted operation of the Website.
4.2 Client obligations
The CLIENT undertakes to follow all instructions received from the COMPANY for entering content correctly on the WEBSITE. The CLIENT must also follow all security rules regarding website administration, granting permissions only to authorised, trained users.
4.3 Duty of confidentiality
The CLIENT and the COMPANY agree not to disclose to third parties, except for purposes related to this agreement, any information that by its nature or by agreement is considered confidential, including but not limited to documents, reports, software, organisational information, designs, images, animations, videos, photographs, audio, graphics, the CLIENT's email address, etc.
4.4 Reporting support requests
Support requests are submitted in writing in the Client Area (crm.afternet.gr). Once a request is submitted, we can also discuss it by phone.
The COMPANY bears no liability where it is not possible to receive a written fault report for reasons attributable to third parties (fixed-line telephony provider, internet access provider, etc.).
Support requests received after 6 p.m. (Athens time) are handled on the next working day.
4.5 Response time to support requests
The COMPANY is obliged to respond within the time limit agreed with the CLIENT to requests for technical support and for the restoration of the CLIENT's problems and faults.
Where the CLIENT has an active Technical Support contract or another specific agreement with the COMPANY, the response time is set by that agreement.
Where the CLIENT does not have an active Technical Support contract, the COMPANY has no obligation to respond within a specific timeframe. The response time depends on the workload at the time the request is received and can in no case be less than five (5) working days.
4.6 Exclusions and disclaimer
The COMPANY has no obligation to the CLIENT if the CLIENT uses software incompatible with what is required to maintain the WEBSITE, such as illegal software, websites with unsafe content or changed or lost passwords.
The COMPANY is in no case responsible for any content the CLIENT publishes on the WEBSITE.
The COMPANY is in no case responsible for the content of newsletters the CLIENT may send to mailing lists, if these do not comply with the regulations on unsolicited email.
The COMPANY is not liable for indirect damage caused to the CLIENT or to the recipients of newsletters the CLIENT may send, if these contain viruses or other harmful programs.
The COMPANY bears no responsibility for protecting the personal data of WEBSITE visitors. The CLIENT undertakes to comply with the Terms of Use and Personal Data Policy published in a visible place on the WEBSITE.
The COMPANY bears no responsibility for any theft of credit card data that may be entered through the WEBSITE for commercial purposes between the CLIENT and WEBSITE visitors.
Excluded from this agreement, and the COMPANY is not liable for indirect damage caused to the CLIENT, are faults due to misuse or abnormal use. Faults due to abnormal use include: vandalism, destruction, fire, natural disaster, falling objects, rough handling, sabotage, obvious power surges, intervention by unauthorised persons in the event of a fault and problems due to irregularities in communication lines and power supply.
5. Financial matters
5.1 Automatic client notifications
Through an automated system, the COMPANY sends email notifications to the email address the CLIENT provided at registration. These emails concern subscriptions to services that are about to expire and are usually sent thirty (30) days before the service expires.
The CLIENT must report any change to their contact email. The COMPANY is not liable where a subscription, domain or other service expires after a notification was delivered to an email the client no longer uses and about which they did not inform the COMPANY in time.
5.2 Payment for services and subscription renewal
The CLIENT must pay their subscriptions no later than three (3) working days before they expire, as stated in the automated notification received thirty (30) days earlier.
The available payment methods and bank accounts are listed on the notification. For bank payments in particular, the CLIENT must state the notification number, invoice number, company name or tax ID in the payment reference. In any case, the CLIENT must inform the COMPANY promptly of payments made, by sending an email to info@afternet.gr. Otherwise the COMPANY may not be able to match the CLIENT's payment, which may lead to the subscription being suspended.
5.3 Late payment
Once the subscription expiry date has passed without payment and renewal, the subscription becomes overdue. In such cases the CLIENT receives up to three (3) automatic overdue notices and must respond immediately, telling the COMPANY whether they wish to renew the subscription.
Once fifteen (15) days of overdue debt have passed, and after the three (3) automatic overdue notices have been sent, the service is suspended automatically.
With regard to Website Technical Support in particular, in the event of unjustified delay by the CLIENT in paying the agreed amounts, it is agreed that the COMPANY has the right to delay the provision of its services by a period equal to the payment delay.
5.4 Final termination of hosting services
Once thirty (30) days of overdue debt on a Website Hosting subscription have passed, the service is terminated permanently and all of the CLIENT's data is deleted from the server.
The COMPANY is not liable for any loss of data on the client's website or business email or for any direct or indirect damage this causes the CLIENT.
5.5 Invoicing and delivery of documents
For any payment the CLIENT makes, they receive the corresponding document exclusively in electronic form by email. The document is sent as a .pdf attachment with clear instructions on how to view and print it. The COMPANY does not send paper documents by post.
All documents are sent automatically to the contact email the CLIENT provided at registration. The CLIENT may ask for documents to be sent to a different address by emailing info@afternet.gr.
5.6 Bank accounts
The CLIENT may use the following bank accounts for payments relating to the renewal of subscriptions or services provided by the COMPANY. Any bank charges are borne solely by the CLIENT and must be included in the transfer amount.

6. Legal terms
Any dispute arising between the COMPANY and the CLIENT concerning the Terms of Service is governed by Greek law and, if not resolved, falls under the jurisdiction of the Courts of Athens.
The Terms of Service may be revised and amended in writing if required. The COMPANY informs the CLIENT promptly of any change to the terms, by email to the address provided at registration. The CLIENT must contact the COMPANY immediately if they object to any new term. If the CLIENT does not contact the COMPANY within thirty (30) days, they automatically accept the Terms of Service.
The COMPANY bears no liability if it is unable to perform these terms due to force majeure or social unrest.
