How do you keep an e-shop with more than 200,000 products up to date when they come from 56 different suppliers? That is the daily question for one of the largest electrical supplies and lighting e-shops we work with.

The problem

Every supplier sends a different file: XML, CSV, Excel. Different codes, different units, a different structure. In electrical supplies, the technical specifications (watts, voltage, IP rating, lamp type) are exactly what customers search for. If they are missing or written differently on every product, filters do not work and the sale is lost.

The numbers

  • 56 supplier files
  • 211,600 products
  • 5 output feeds for the e-shop
  • Capacity for up to 350,000 products

How it works

  • Every day all products update: prices, descriptions, attributes.
  • Every hour stock updates.
  • Anything that disappears from a supplier's file is removed from the e-shop automatically. No ghost products.
  • But anything still in the business's own warehouse, in the ERP, stays visible until it sells out, so no sale is lost.
  • If a file fails, the system sends an alert instead of breaking the e-shop.

What the business gains

  • Correct prices and availability, with no manual work.
  • Consistent attributes for filters that work.
  • The team works on sales, not files.
