What it is
In PrestaShop, features are added through modules. There are ready-made ones (on PrestaShop Addons or from third parties) and custom ones written for a specific business. The WordPress equivalent is a plugin.
Fewer and better
Every module adds code. Too many or poorly written modules slow the e-shop down and make upgrades harder.
